Scott Pilgrim Gets DLC

I know that you are upset because in order to read this you had to put your controller down and stop playing Scott Pilgrim VS The World, but I come bearing great news. The amazing beat-em-up is getting a dose of DLC. Knives Chau, the 17-year old Chinese wondergirl is the focus of the new content, allowing her to become a selectable character.

Players of the game will know that Knives is a character who can be summoned to aid the other characters in battle, using unique abilities specific to each character. With Knives joining the crew, we wonder what will happen when she summons. Will she summon herself to attack the baddies? No. When she uses her special summon ability, either her father arrives to chop enemies down, or her tracksuit-wearing mother appears to save the day.

The DLC is set for $1.99 on the Playstation Network and about 160 Microsoft Points on Xbox Live. The pack includes new Dodgeball and Battle Royale modes, new Knives-related trophies and achievements, and it rebalances the game’s difficulty. Perhaps the best thing to come for this game is a free update that will hit, including drop in co-op, which is what we’ve been looking for. No more getting whooped in a level and having to wait for the end, or starting over from the main menu to enjoy the game with friends.

Both the patch and the DLC will become available in early November, along with the blu-ray release of the movie.
