Gears 3 Beta Now Offering Buddy Tokens
So you’ve been loving the Gears of War 3 beta, and you’ve been telling your friends about it. Sadly, they weren’t able to get in on the beta in time, so you’re in all alone. Epic Games has just announced a nice little treat that will wipe those manly tears right off your face. Introducing the Gears 3 beta buddy tokens.
Buddy tokens are special codes that you can earn that will allow friends to gain access to the Gears 3 beta. Before you know it you’ll be playing right alongside your best bros. Of course, you don’t just get the buddy tokens – you have to earn them. Here’s how to gain a few:
- Purchase any “Gears of War” content from Xbox Live Marketplace (including a “Gears of War” Game Add-on, a “Gears of War” Games on Demand title, or a “Gears of War” Avatar item)
- Play 20 or more hours of the “Gears of War 3” beta (any time already spent in the beta will count toward this challenge)
- Add a 12-month Xbox Live Gold subscription to your existing account (purchased from retail or online)
- Play more than 100 hours of any “Gears of War” title, lifetime to date
Buddy tokens will be emailed to players via the email account linked to their Xbox Live Gamertag. These tokens will start rolling out on May 8th, allowing for some time to earn more than one. This is also the same time that the “Never fight Alone” phase of the beta rolls out. Coincidence?
