If you’re hoping to get in on some Star Wars: The Old Republic this weekend, I wouldn’t block off your calender for it. You might have had your hopes up that there would be a Beta Testing Weekend, but BioWare has announced that this will not be the case. They have not ruled out the possibility that future weekends this month could get opened up to the public, but they have no official stance.
So why was this weekend canceled? First, they cite that they are still processing data from last weekend’s dry run. This likely means that they had a number of hiccups that they want to work out before trying it again. They also cite that they are prepping a new major build for the game, which won’t be ready before this upcoming weekend. They would much rather get it rolled out before they open up another Testing Weekend, which is understandable.
Finally, BioWare is putting together a comprehensive FAQ on Beta Testing Weekends. They should be releasing it sometime today, which will hopefully clear up a few things. We’ll let you know when we see it. If you want to read the full explanation of the cancellation for this weekend, hit the link below.
