Star Wars: The Old Republic Release Date Announced: December 20, 2011

Star Wars: The Old Republic is easily one of the most highly-anticipated  MMO’s since World of Warcraft. Essentially the successor to the Knights of the Old Republic franchise, The Old Republic promises hundreds of hours of content, enough to satisfy your Jedi or Sith cravings. So when do we get to play it? If you’re in the beta, you can play it now. As for the rest of the world? December 20, 2011.

That’s right, in an email just sent out, Bioware has officially announced the release date. Just barely sliding in before Christmas, you will indeed be able to play this game before the year ends. The game will come with 30 days of free gameplay. Monthly subscriptions are going to run the same as most other MMO’s with the breakdown as follows:

  • 1 Month Subscription: $14.99 (£8.99/€12.99)
  • 3 Month Subscription: $13.99 per month (one-time charge of $41.97/£25.17/€35.97)
  • 6 Month Subscription: $12.99 per month (one-time charge of $77.94/£46.14/€65.94)

Speaking of pre-orders, we don’t yet know just how early those with “early access” will be able to get into the game. We will keep our eye on that news, and update you when we know more.
