Call of Duty Elite For The PC Up In The Air

Before Modern Warfare 3 even left the gate, Beachhead Studios commented that PC gamers would have to wait longer for Call of Duty Elite than those on consoles. It’s been a week since the launch of the game, and the Elite service is still lost to those on the PC platform. News that just arrived, however, that hints toward the possibility that Elite would remain in shadows for good.

A tweet from the Call of Duty Elite Twitter account earlier set in the doubt that’s being cast on the FPS service. The tweet read, “We are working towards a universal Elite experience but we cannot guarantee if or when a version will be available for the PC.” Apparently the service needs some polish of its own before it can go live for the PC world.

The original delay was due to the developer wanting to “ensure a safe PC environment is greater than ever.” Also, on the PC it’s easier for players to get into the system, and Beachhead wants to ensure that cheaters can’t get in and abuse the service to modify stats. Right now even console players are experiencing some tiny issues with the service, and for that Activision has offered 30 days free usage for those who get the subscription. No details have been given yet on when, or if, PC players can see Elite, but as they come we’ll keep you posted.
