Infinity Ward Slams The Banhammer On 1600 Modern Warfare 3 Players

Over the weekend Robert Bowling, creative strategist at Infinity Ward, tweeted that some 1600 Modern Warfare 3 players have been banned from the game. User Four Zero Two promised a thorough kicking to any player caught cheating in the game, and it looks like many just didn’t heed the warning. So Infinity Ward isn’t feeling particularly sorry at all to anyone who’s on the receiving end of their wrath.

The tweet was short, but straight to the point. It stated, “Any attempt to cheat, hack, or glitch in #MW3 will not be tolerated. 1600+ bans issued. Updates in works. Please cont. to report offenders.” The developer is not tolerating any of this boosting that’s being done in the game, which is the way it should be.

Every time a new Modern Warfare has hit the scene some scenario like this has happened. The game launches, people use exploits and cheats to rock the leaderboards, and then bans are issued across the board. There’s simply no reason for boosting, and why players feel like they need to cheat to excel in online gaming makes no sense to me. Apparently the developers aren’t fond of the idea either, and they’re making it known. Right now no specific platform has been named, so we assume it’s across all of them. Keep an eye out, and keep reporting those cheaters.
