Xbox 720 Will Feature 6 Or 8 Core Processor And Dual Graphics Cards [Rumor]

News from a French-based website that apparently has close ties to direct sources has just come in today. The first bit of substantial news refers to the announcement date of the newest addition to the Xbox series. Word has been circulating that Microsoft will release information about the “Xbox 720” at the Consumer Electronic Show happening January 10-12 of 2012. More news is stacking up that gives this rumor some validity.

The next bits of news are some rumors about the innards of the new Xbox console. Xboxygen.com has supposedly ‘confirmed’ some of the main parts. A hexa-core (8 core) processor, 2 gigabytes of DDR3 RAM, and a dual graphics card from AMD are all said to be included. It’s said that the company has been working on this prototype since the release of the Xbox 360 in 2005. One last note on the new insides of the Xbox 720 is that it will have support for Windows 9!

These stories (true or not) are sure to swirl up some Sony stories. With the consoles becoming more and more outdated and the gaming developers telling these companies that they need newer consoles for upcoming games, I’m hoping we will receive some confirmed stories in the near future. Even a simple picture would be nice!
