Alan Wake’s American Nightmare Confirmed, ‘Fight Till Dawn’ Mode Announced

Not too long ago we got a hit that a new Xbox 360 downloadable title by the name of “Alan Wake’s American Nightmare” was rated over in Europe. We didn’t know at the time what this meant for the game’s future here in the states, but now the hunch has been confirmed. Alan Wake’s American Nightmare is a reality, and it will be releasing during the middle of the first quarter of 2012.

Not only was the game confirmed today, but a new arcade mode for it has also been announced. It will be called “Fight Till Dawn,” and it will see the writer being swarmed by enemies overnight. In this new mode players will try their hand at reaching the highest score possible by using a variety of available weapons. These weapons will range “from old stalwarts like the flare gun to wild new favorites like the nail gun and old school Remedy favorites like the Uzi.”

An extended release trailer has been posted, and you can see it below. It looks like Alan Wake’s American Nightmare will be a perfect new treat for fans of the game. We’ve been waiting a long time to see what would come from Remedy, and they’ve been able to deliver. I think I’ll go hibernate now until the game releases next year. Just remember to wake me from any nightmares I encounter.
