Club Nintendo Coins Can Now Be Exchanged For Games

If you’re a proud owner of either a Wii or 3DS, then you’ve undoubtedly heard of Club Nintendo. For those of you who haven’t, it’s a great rewards program offered by the company for fans of their games. Players can sign up for free, and by registering games and consoles with the program, they’ll earn Club Nintendo Coins that can be exchanged for rewards. The rewards catalog has always been cool by me, but now it’s gotten even better. For a limited time, Nintendo is allowing players to pick up full downloadable games using their coins.

Right now through January 10th you can pick up titles like Super Mario Kart, Fluidity, 3D Classics: Xevious, and Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Minis March Again and download them to their respective systems. These rewards will cost 100, 150, 100, and 150 coins respectively, and are each great titles to pick up. The only catch is in the price. You see, to pick up coins you need to purchase real, full games which can cost upwards to $50. For these games you may pick up 50 coins, so when translated you’d have to spend $100 just to grab Super Mario Kart.

Still, the ability to download these games as rewards is pretty sweet. The official site says that these titles will be switched out next month, so we can assume this may be a new program that will differ from month to month. If you’ve got the coins to spend, check out the Club Nintendo site and grab one of these games for yourself.
