For those of you who don’t know, when the PlayStation Vita is launched in America you can purchase either the $250 Wi-Fi version, or the $300 3G version. However, GameStop and Amazon have listed Playstation 3G bundle that’s including lots of goodies: an 8 GB memory card, a voucher for a free Playstation Network game, and a free month of 250 MB 3G service.
Now, I know what you’re thinking. You’re probably thinking “Well, that’s great and all, but how much does it cost?” That’s the beautiful part of it, because it’s listed at $300 as well! And even though the Wi-Fi only version is $50 less, when you consider that you’re going to have to buy a memory card (which is retailing around $30 anyway), plus the fact that you get a free game and a month of 3G service, it might just be worth it to get the bundle, even if you don’t plan on using the 3G service.
As it has been well documented, the Vita isn’t doing so well in Japan. This bundle might be the thing that helps keep the Vita from failing altogether. I guess we’ll see what happens whenever the Vita is released on February 22nd.
