Mega Man And Pac-Man Confirmed For Street Fighter X Tekken

It’s become a trend with fighting games to include characters that aren’t associated with the franchise(s) involved. However, Street Fighter X Tekken has officially taken this too far. I mean, the game itself is a crossover from two different universes. However, they’re pulling characters way out of left field for this.

It has been announced that Pac-man and Mega Man will both be exclusive characters for the PS3 and PS Vita versions of the game. Mega Man is quite a stretch, but Pac-Man? Seriously? I don’t even know what to say. I think these might be amusing characters for a fighting game, but not this one. This isn’t Street Fighter X Tekken anymore, it’s Capcom X Namco Bandai.

Now I’m not saying that I wouldn’t buy a crossover title like that, as Marvel Vs Capcom is an excellent series. Mostly because you can pull anyone from both universes with a name like that. At no point did Mega Man ever join the Street Fighter crew.

What’s more, is that if you watch the video below, you won’t see the Blue Bomber as you remember. Unless you’re thinking of the guy on the cover of the original game. This big burly dude barely resembles our beloved Rock Man. As for Pac-Man, it appears that he’s controlling some sort of robotic suit. You’d think the game would be good enough on its own merit without having to resort to such silliness.
