Prepare To Face The Nemesis In Operation Raccoon City

Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City releases tomorrow, and in the game players will already have plenty to deal with. As Umbrella Operatives they will traverse the infected city on a mission to destroy vital evidence in the single-player campaign. The game will also feature a multiplayer mode where a team of Umbrella Ops will take on the Special Ops force for control of the city. A new multiplayer mode has just been announced, called the Nemesis Mode, for multiplayer. It’s exactly as terrifying as it sounds.

Each of the teams will be scouring the city in search of each other, filling objectives, but a new mechanic has been thrown into the mix.Somewhere on the map is the “Nemesis Control Unit,” which is a set of computers that are running the Nemesis Program. Right nearby, the Nemesis himself lies in stasis, ready to be set forth on a path of destruction. If a member of your team reaches the Control Unit you can set the Nemesis off to attack members of the enemy team. He wields the powerful gatling gun, and as always he’s like a shield in the face of gunfire.

For right now the Nemesis Mode will be exclusive to the Xbox 360 version of the game, and release along with it from day one. There hasn’t been word on when it will hit the PS3, or if it will ever hit. We’re waiting for an announcement from Capcom, and until that gets here check out the Nemesis Mode trailer below.
