The Kingdom Hearts series has one of the biggest fan followings of any out in the industry today. It’s spanned more than a couple of platforms, and it’s even generated its own dedicated fan cosplay base. The newest game in the series, Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance, isn’t hitting the market until the end of July, but a new trailer has just released for the game from E3.
The trailer stars Sora and Riku, both familiar faces that we’ve seen before. By now there have been tons of characters introduced into the series, and some people have trouble keeping up with what’s going on. Seriously, there’s even a dedicated site to bringing people up-to-speed on the goings-on in the Kingdom Hearts universe.
I’ve played through the first title, but I’m one of those guys who associates memories with games, so I’ve not taken it any further. I was sick a lot back then and it was the only game I’d play while sacked out on the couch. I didn’t really get the whole “mixing Final Fantasy characters with Disney” thing, but it’s turned out well for both Square and Disney, and fans seem to appreciate the series. Check out the new trailer below.
