EVGA Teases Z77 Mini-ITX Motherboard

When you look at most people’s gaming rigs, you tend to see a beefy tower staring back at you. After all, you need a lot of space to cram in huge CPU coolers, multiple graphics cards, a ton of fans, and a large RAID array. Actually, most people don’t have most of those things, and much of the space goes to waste, which is why some prefer to make their PC as small as possible.

If you’re looking at building a new Mini-ITX gaming machine, you don’t have a ton of options. In the Intel Z77 market, there are currently only three to choose from. (ASUS P8Z77-I Deluxe, ASRock Z77E-ITX, and Zotac Z77-ITX WiFi) However, thanks to a few teaser images that were recently posted, we now know that EVGA is working on their own Z77 board.

EVGA isn’t ready to release the specifics on the board, but we at least get a peek at the internal layout. The most interesting thing that we can see in these images is the placement of the CPU. Namely, it’s not nestled right up against your PCI-e card, thus allowing you more room for a bigger cooler. This is a nice change from the Zotec and ASRock boards, which have the two sitting right next to each other. We’ll be keeping an eye on this board, and will let you know once EVGA releases new info on it.
