God Of War: Ascension Says Hello To Polyphemus

While this game won’t be coming out for some time, it’s hard not to get excited about God of War: Ascension. It’s brutal and gory as always, and adds on to a story we already know and love. This game is going to be all about Kratos trying to redeem himself for past sins, and looking into how he developed the insane psyche he has.

Of course, no God of War game is quite complete without a slew of horrific monsters to fight. So up until the release on March 12, 2013, we will be getting glimpses of the creatures you will have to face. First up is Polyphemus, the son of Poseidon who is both a titan and a cyclops. He will be a terrifying boss on the desert multiplayer map. You’ll have to suffer through getting smooshed a bunch of times until the gods decide to lend you a hand.

They’ll give you the Spear of Olympus, which is supposed to be the only thing that can destroy Polyphemus. From the looks of things, this is going to be a bloody-tastic time for you and your friends as it seems that gouging out his eye is the only way to rid yourself of this giant beast. In my opinion, you’re putting Polyphemus out of his misery. Can you see where those giant piercings are?? (Two in his arms, one in his neck…ow)
