Ubisoft Has Fixed The Uplay DRM Issue

Earlier today, we posted about a problem that Ubisoft’s Uplay was having. This DRM system was having some security problems, as it made your PC an open book to hackers. Even though there weren’t any issues like this reported, it is still something that needed to be fixed.

According to a tweet from UplayUbisoft, this issue has been resolved via a new patch. This is what the official word is:

We have just released a new patch for Uplay PC, which will update your client to version 2.0.4. This patch corrects a flaw in the browser plug-in that was brought to our attention earlier today. We recommend that you update your Uplay PC application without a web browser open, as this will allow the plug-in to update correctly. An updated version of the Uplay PC installer with the patch is also available from Uplay.com.

If you are a PC gamer using Uplay, you might want to get on this. Let’s hope that no other issues like this arise in the future.
