Minecraft: Is This Real Life?

If you’ve gotten into Minecraft at all, then you know how addictive it can be. You start a simple project to pass some time, and a week later you’re the proud owner of an empire that looks like Middle Earth. Every time you close your eyes, you start seeing pixels, and after a while you think you can punch a tree and collect wood from it.

It’s only natural to wish that you could live in this magnificently blocky world, and while we know that can’t really happen, we can get as close as humanly possible. One Mr. Ben Purdy has created a couple of interactive Minecraft blocks that you can hit and “destroy”. This is all done with projection, and for those of you interested in how he made it work, go here.

If you watch the video below, you can see that this would actually be a pretty fun game as you’re going for speed. Of course, it’s always going to be those horrid creepers that will be the face of evil, thwarting your plans.
