Sony fans will be pleased to hear that the premium subscription service currently on the PS3 will soon be available for Vita owners as well. The changes will take place in November, and current Playstation Plus Subscribers don’t need to pay an extra fee to access the service on their portable devices as well, and vice-versa for those just signing up with their Vita.
Playstation Plus offers free games and cloud storage as an incentive for loyal patrons, with up to 1GB of cloud storage per device and a number of free games available to the subscriber as long as their subscription is active. Vitas with plus service can have their console turn on at a selected time to sync trophies on the PSN, update their game and firmware automatically, as well as get automatic downloads for game demos.
Playstation Plus subscriptions currently cost $17.99 for three months of service, or players can subscribe for a year for $49.99.
