The Fantasy Flight Games’ World Championship Weekend is approaching, and that means that the company wants to make sure players are up-to-date with the current rules of each game that will be played during the event. The championship will be held from November 9th-11th next month, which means there’s just enough time to get in some practice and brush up on game rules until then. The first game that the company has decided to offer a FAQ sheet on is the Star Wars X-Wing Miniatures Game.
Players can either download the low-res pdf or a high-res pdf, both containing the same information. The difference between the two is simply how pretty each one appears. These files offer updated rules based off of frequently asked questions submitted by the game’s many players. You can print out the sheet and keep it in your game box for quick reference if needed. It helps clear up some card text, as well as makes detailed references to cards and the game’s rulebook in efforts to help clear up any confusion on the rules.
The game’s designer, Jay Little, added a note to the Fantasy Flight post on their official site talking about the game and his thoughts so far. Here’s what he had to say:
The fan response to Star Wars: X-Wing Miniatures Game has been overwhelming. I could not be more pleased with the response the game has received. I am especially pleased with the number of comments I’ve read and emails I’ve received from players who have used it as their introduction to first-time miniatures gamers, or how the game provided an opportunity to share their hobby and love of Star Wars with their children and family members.
Players from literally around the world have been pitting their daunting Imperial forces against the sturdy Rebels in thousands upon thousands of skirmishes and matches. Since its launch, players have started to find their favorite pilot and card combinations and tactical maneuvers. A wide variety of squadron building concepts and strategies have been popping up on forums across the internet.
As X-Wing continues to grow and we prepare for the launch of future waves of ships (stay tuned for Slave I and The Millennium Falcon entering the fray soon), we want to take this opportunity to provide an update featuring the answers to frequently asked questions which clarify some of the game rules or timing issues that may occur. In the meantime, keep building those squadrons, posting those strategies, and enjoying X-Wing: Miniatures Game with your friends and families. Don’t forget to lock s-foils in attack position, and may your red dice roll crits!
The X-Wing Miniatures game is awesome, and it’s no surprise that the game has become a great success since its launch. If you’re planning on heading to the Championship Weekend, make sure you check out this official FAQ for the game. More of these sheets will be coming in the weeks to come, and we’ll make sure to get them posted here as they release.
