A little while back there was a rumor rolling around that one of the voice actors in the Modern Warfare series let out some information that a new Modern Warfare title was in the works. He even said he was going to a meeting with execs, according to the story. Activision spoke out about the rumor, saying that it wasn’t true. Now the person in question has also stepped up to snub it.
Billy Murray, the voice behind Captain Price in the Modern Warfare series, has come to Twitter to clear the air a bit. He commented on the article that hit the net after his conversation was had on the plane. “This article is not accurate,” he stated. “I told the guy I was doing a special new Modern Warfare for China, not MW4. The guy I spoke to on the plane was very nice and I’m really pleased he loves the game but the facts have gotten a bit confused somewhere.”
Finally he added, “Also I couldn’t have said I was meeting them Monday as I was on a Monday evening flight to London! Sorry for the confusion!” Whether the conversation was valid or not, following the formula that’s been put in place ever since the Modern warfare series first showed up on the scene, it remains very plausible that we’d see a new title in the series soon. The next Call of Duty title, Black Ops 2, is set to release next week on November 13th.
