Now You Can Have More Cowbell With Cowbell Hero

I’d like to think that the title says it all, but if not don’t worry, I’ll explain what’s going on here. About twelve years ago a Saturday Night Live skit birthed a joke that’s seen a lot more light than it originally needed to. During the skit, a couple of characters played by Will Ferrell and Christopher Walken went on about needing more cowbell in a song called “Don’t Fear The Reaper.” Since that skit aired the joke has gone on and on, to the point where it’s become a cult classic.

Now a company called Digital Hero Games is making the “more cowbell” scenario a living thing with their release of Cowbell Hero. I seriously can’t make any of this up. Cowbell Hero is a game coming to both the iPhone and iPad that allows you to – you guessed it – play more cowbell. It comes packed with 16 classic songs from the 70’s that will have you popping more cowbell than your heart can handle.

The songs included in the game are:

• “Down on the Corner” by Creedence Clearwater Revival
• “Hair of the Dog” by Nazareth
• “Little Willy” as made famous by Sweet
• “Cowbell Blues”
• “Incense and Peppermints” by Strawberry Alarm Clock
• “Evil Ways” as made famous by Santana
• “Time Has Come Today” as made famous by The Chambers Brothers
• “Give and Take”
• “Annabelle”
• “Got to Give it Up” by Marvin Gaye
• “Better by the Pound” by Funkadelic
• “Funkify”
• “Rock Me” by Steppenwolf
• “Good to Your Earhole” by Funkadelic
• “(Don’t Fear) The Reaper” as made famous by Blue Oyster Cult
• “More Cowbell”

The team at Digital Hero Games has really put a lot of effort into the game, and with that knowledge how could you hate it? With Cowbell Hero you can live the gag that’s been going on for years, and it will make a great addition to your “more cowbell” t-shirt collection. You better get that banging arm ready, because this is going to be a revival.
