SquareEnix released a trailer today for Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII-3, showcasing the heroine in all her reborn glory (looking a bit like a fabric store threw up on her). The trailer features a small handful of cutscenes, as well as gameplay. No playable characters are shown fighting with Lightning during the trailer.
The game mentions that the city Luxarian is a metropolis that strives to drive off darkness through religion and prayer, but claims that some darkness just cannot be reached. The player has only 13 days to save the world from the apocalypse. It has been previously revealed that there will be differing times of day, and that characters will have set schedules throughout, offering a possible replayability factor for those who weren’t able to spend as much time with certain characters. Depending on the players’ actions, the apocalypse can be delayed or accelerated from the stated 13 days.
Check out the trailer below! The release date for the title has only been announced as “2013”. Those looking for more information can keep an eye on the game’s official website, www.lightningreturns.com.
