LittleBigPlanet 2 Getting Cross-Controller DLC Next Tuesday

Multiple screens for your console is all the rage these days! You’ve got the Wii U, with its GamePad that features a touch-sensitive screen with gyroscopes, and you got the Xbox 360 getting SmartGlass support added that will let your tablet or smartphone gain access to different features based on what you’re running at the time. Sony has gotten into this field as well, by using the Vita to act as an extra controller in a similar fashion to the Wii U’s GamePad.

Up until now, however, there have been no games out yet that have supported this feature. That’s all set to change next Tuesday, on the 18th when the Cross-Controller Pack for LittleBigPlanet 2 is released. The price for the DLC is relatively cheap, only 5 bucks, though you will need both the PS3 and the Vita (as well as the game, of course) in order to actually use the new feature.

The Vita will be used not only for its second screen but for its other features as well, including both front and rear-touch capabilities, its ability to determine just how tilted and what direction the Vita is, and it even looks like the camera will be featured a little bit, as it seems that you’ll be able to use the Vita in the manner of an X-Ray scanner as you point it towards different parts of the screen. Besides the levels that come with the DLC you’ll also be able to create new Cross-Controller levels that you can upload for the community! Not a bad deal for 5 bucks, if I do say so myself!
