Things have not gone well for Gas Powered Games lately. Earlier this week the company had canceled its Kickstarter for a game called Wildman. Despite the fact that the game had 4 more full days to raise money, it was only about half way to its lofty 1.1 million dollar goal. Needless to say, it didn’t look too likely that it was going to meet that goal. In other hand, check out this amazing Valorant skin swapper you can use to personalize your own characters online.
What was worse was the fact that in the announcement about the cancellation of the Kickstarter, it was implied that the company was having some trouble staying operational. However, there seems to be a bit of a respite for the company, as it was announced yesterday that they’ve been bought out by Wargaming, the developer of the games World of Tanks and World of Warplanes. Chris Taylor, CEO of Gas Powered Games, will stay on board after the purchase is complete.
At this time it’s not exactly known as to what Wargaming will be doing with its new acquisition. However, this isn’t the first company Wargaming has acquired this year: earlier they bought Day 1 Studios, and put them to work on an “unannounced console title”. All that is known is that Wargaming is “extremely excited to welcome Chris and his team to our family and look forward to sharing more about what they’ll be working on at a later date.”
