Long, long ago, Double Fine sought a way to cut out publishers from making a game. It seems as though an age has passed since we heard anything about development for the workings coming from Tim Schafer and crew, but at PAX this past weekend, a new adventure was revealed.
Say hello to Broken Age! Here’s a droplet of information about what you’ll be dealing with in the game:
Broken Age is a point-and-click adventure telling the stories of a young boy and girl leading parallel lives. The girl has been chosen by her village to be sacrificed to a terrible monster—but she decides to fight back. Meanwhile, a boy on a spaceship is living a solitary life under the care of a motherly computer, but he wants to break free to lead adventures and do good in the world. Adventures ensue.
Will this game fulfill our hopes and dreams? Maybe. I’m sure Double Fine is feeling a bit of pressure what with the 3.3 million people chucked at them for it. If you’re sad you missed out on the Kickstarter funding period, fret not, for they are still letting people be a part of this awesome process. Want to see how they came up with the name? Go here first, then here.
