Das Keyboard announces a line of RF-blocking bags and wallets to protect your data

Personal privacy is a hot topic these days, and for good reason. While politics aren’t really something we go into here, there have been a lot of events lately that make us all wonder just how safe our information is from prying eyes. There are a lot of things you can do to try and secure your information online, but what about when you’re out and about? What you need is an extra layer of physical protection for your mobile devices.

Das Keyboard, a company known for their line of mechanical keyboards made a surprising move recently by announcing the “World’s first line of radio frequency blocking bags designed to protect against location tracking, theft and digital intrusion.” The bags are lined with HackShield RF blocking material, which will stop your laptop, tablet, phone, or any other device from communicating with the outside world, making it impossible for anyone to access your data. What’s more, some newer debit and credit cards have RFID chips in them, which could potentially be hacked remotely to access your information. So you can stash your wallet in your bag, or in their new HackShield Wallet, which has the same lining as the bags.

Most people will probably consider this level of protection to be unnecessary, but one can never be too cautious with valuable information. To step things up, they have even added special Fidlock fasteners, which make it harder for someone to open your bag, and pick the pockets. The backpack and messenger bag are both available now for $179, while the wallet will go on sale later this month for $49.
