For all the flak that EA gets, they sure do know how to make a buck. Earlier this month the company, along with the folks of the Humble Bundle, released a Humble Bundle for themselves. It was revealed last Friday that the Humble Origin Bundle has broken the previous sales record for bundles as they had at that time earned over $8.4 million, and as of last night they have earned over $9.4 million.
In the Humble Origin Bundle, you can get Dead Space 1 and 3, Burnout Paradise: The Ultimate Box, Crysis 2 Maximum Edition, Mirror’s Edge, and Medal of Honor. If you paid more than the average of $4.90, you can also get Command and Conquer: Red Alert 3 – Uprising, Battlefield 3, Populous, and The Sims 3 + Starter Pack. It’s a great deal, but why would so many people buy an EA product after all the backlash they’ve received over the last few years?
It’s simple: they’re not getting a single dime of that over 9.4 million dollars. Instead, the company is donating there share to 6 wonderful causes, the Human Rights Campaign, watsi, San Francisco AIDS Foundation, the American Red Cross, GamesAid, and the American Cancer Society. All in all, it’s a good cause, and if you want to support it you have until Wednesday to do it!
