Well, I can’t say that I’ve ever heard of a fashion show for a game, but there is definitely one happening today! Spirit Tales is an adorable game that features little chibis who have alternate spirit forms. There is a whole lot of customization for your character in this game, so it should only make sense to have a fashion show to put these spiffy duds in the spotlight.

If you want to tune in, this event will be happening at 3pm PDT (which isn’t far from the present time). You should run over to their Facebook page and share some of their photos before the event to have a chance at winning the costume collection. For those of you who are wanting to participate in the open beta, you’ll have to wait just a little bit longer, as what was originally going to be a April 25^th event date, was pushed back to May 10^th. (these things do happen) You can download the game here, but the servers won’t be live until the 10^th at 4pm PDT.

We’ve brought up the “spirit form” a couple times now, but for those of you wondering about what that is, wonder no longer. Koram Games has posted a full background story which can be found here. It seems that these forms are the spirits of the Guardians of the Earth that had previously passed into legend. They have resurfaced to face the darkness that is growing in the North. Obviously we’re going to have to wait until we play the game to really know what’s going on, but this at least gives us a heads up.

One of the biggest issues with PC gaming is that if you want the best experience, you have to constantly keep upgrading your hardware. After two or three years, that mid-range video card you bought is going to start showing its age. Wouldn’t it be great if you just bought one top-of-the-line card, and it would be upgraded every two years for you? Well you just might.

No, there hasn’t been a revolution in computer hardware that will rebuild itself every so often. Rather, Nvidia is running a contest that could get you a brand new graphics card every two years for the rest of your life (or 20 years, whichever is shorter). That’s right, in fifteen years, when you need something new to run Half-Life 3, you’ll know that a new GPU will be on its way to your door before you need it.

So what do you need to do? You need to go out and buy a GeForce GTX 570 or GTX 560 Ti, and you’ll be entered to win. Make sure that you purchase it from NCIX, Newegg, TigerDirect, or Maingear, as they are the only ones that are supporting the contest. For each card you purchase between now and April 16, you’ll get a single entry. Should you win, you’ll receive one new GeForce GTX (or equivilant) card every two years, valued at $499. You’ll also receive a Maingear SLI 3D gaming PC valued at $10,000, and $1,000 in cash. Not too shabby at all. Ten first-prize winners will get $1,000 cash.

With the new 600 cards coming, you have to admit that this is a great way to clear out old stock. These cards are still excellent, and the idea of having new GPUs every two years for the next twenty sounds pretty tempting.

Pong was one of the first arcade games that ever hit the market. With all those little beeps and boops, you might have thought that such a game couldn’t have been so intense. While it’s not exactly the most thrilling game by todays standards, it was certainly interesting enough to maintain popularity so that it is still known in the gaming world.

Atari has not been idle since they released Pong in 1972, giving us things like Neverwinter Nights and The Witcher 2. However, sometimes it’s nice to return to your roots. The only problem being that redesigning a game like Pong would take a lot of money and time that the company likely doesn’t have.

With this in mind, they instead have made a contest to seek out aspiring independent developers. This contest is looking to bring the beloved Pong to the App Store, and gives you the chance to win up to $100,000 in the process. E3 has been a wild and crazy ride over the last week. We’ve seen a lot of announcements and gotten our hands on a number of upcoming games. We’ve done our best to keep you up-to-date on everything, and you guys have been giving us a lot of feedback on the content. So now it’s time to reward you, our faithful readers.

As we all know, next week is one of the most important weeks in the gaming world. Press conferences will be held, new games and hardware will be announced. That’s right, E3 is coming, and GamerFront is going to be right there in the thick of things, bringing you the latest news, right from the show floor.

These days the show is closed off to the general public, which means that most of you won’t be able to attend. That’s why we’re going to be bringing you coverage all week. What’s more, we’ve teamed up with the people at NZXT to bring one of you a special prize for tuning in to our coverage.

It seems as though there has been renewed interest in the world of LAN parties. Just last month we attended Indiana University’s semi-annual LAN War. Next weekend, we will be heading to Purdue University for their second BoilerFrag. Unlike IU’s event, there will be room for console gamers as well, which should prove interesting. Unfortunately seats are completely sold out for PC gamers, (proving just how much of an interest there is in LANs these days), but you should be able to get in on the console action.

If you recall from the LAN War, we did a rather special giveaway. This involved bestowing an NZXT Phantom on the person with the ugliest case. Well guess what? The GamerFront Ugliest Case Contest is back! That’s right, for those attending the Purdue Boilerfrag, bring out your ugliest case to the event. The GamerFront crew will be judging the worst of the worst to see just who is going to go home with an NZXT Phantom.

The rules are simple.

• You must be using a desktop computer.
• You must actually have a case. (No random parts sitting on a table)
• You must use the PC in your ugly case for the course of the event.

About halfway through the event, we will announce the finalists. Then, we will have the crowd vote on which case looks the worst, and is in need of replacing.

It seems that Sony has decided to team up with Killzone 3 in order to provide an opportunity that will work out for both themselves and you. A new contest has been set in place and the winner will go on to the Electronic Entertainment Expo, receiving an all-expenses-paid trip from Sony. To be eligible to win you must first sign up, and then play the heck out of Killzone 3. You will be required to collect Helghast symbols as well as meet objectives, one of which is to earn a place on the leaderboards in the Live Fire Range. Smaller prizes will be handed out, such as a PS3 system, and copies of Killzone 3 signed by Guerilla Games.

I say you get signed up, and be all you can be in order to win this trip. Good luck to you, though, because you’ll most likely see me among the challengers.

Atlus announced yesterday this years winners of the Atlus-O-Weenie 2010 contest! In case you don’t know what contest this is, let me fill you in. every year Atlus, a top developer in the gaming world, holds a contest in which ans dress up as Atlus game characters, take pictures, and send them in. Atlus then chooses a favorite, then the fan favorite, and six random winners, and send out tons of swag!

“This is our 4th year running this costume contest for our fans, and every year we’re blown away by the response. Every year people from all walks of life come out of the woodwork and put together phenomenal costumes that surpass our expectations,” said Clayton S. Chan, one of the Atlus-O-Weenie coordinators. He further added, “It’s always a thrill for the people who put in a lot of work on these titles. We love seeing that we have inspired droves of fans to put in lots of hard work to dress up as the characters we helped bring to life. On that note, I’m very sad that nobody dressed up as a character from Crimson Gem Saga, or as Funky Student from Persona 4.”

Isadora Tang (pictured above in her Knights in the Nightmare costume) was the fan favorite, chosen by popular vote, and won the Grand Prize by a landslide as Maria.

Aleksandra Chernova was the Atlus staff favorite, as Thage from Eternal Poison.

The six randomly chosen winners were: Izanagi from Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4, Thanatos from Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3, Oswald from Odin Sphere, Tlachtga from Etrian Odyssey, Prisoner CR-S01 from Trauma Team, and Mackenzie from the Touch Detective series.
