Have you ever been confused about the time line of the The Legend of Zelda series? Surely, you have hoped that with Skyward Sword, things might start to make sense. But in fact, it only made things that much worse. Well, it’s time to put an end to all of this confusion.

On the 25^th anniversary of the The Legend of Zelda, an artbook of epic proportions is going to be released called the Hyrule Historia. This is a 274 page book that has three chapters that will hopefully give us the answers we have long been waiting for. The book is broken down into three chapters, starting with Skyward Sword, the origin of Hyrule, and the series as a whole. The second goes into a compendium of Hyrule’s history that span the entire series. The third chapter in this epic book is going to be a collection of concpet art coming from every game.

If that wasn’t enough to get you excited for this book, there will also be a 32 page comic based on Skyward Sword that have 8 pages of full color, and a storyline that was edited by series producers from the games. If you want one really badly, even if it’s not in english, then you can buy it for 3200 yen ($41~ USD) when is hits Japanese shelves on December 21^st. There is no information on an english translation just yet, but give it time, as it’s bound to happen eventually.

Batman has always been up against a number of diverse villains, but non as “cool” as Mr. Freeze. Mr. Freeze had long been one of my favorite Batman bad guys, he has unconventional powers and awesome as well as tragic backstory. So seeing him in this trailer was very exciting.

The trailer shows some rather good graphics along with some well worded dialogue. In the trailer there is talk by Mr. Freeze of needing Batman to get him something , something very important to his work. Shortly after the request is made, a fight between the two ensues, ending with Batman being knocked down and Mr. Freeze firing his gun.

Batman Arkham City has me excited, I really enjoy Batman as a playable character as well as a watchable hero. Needless to say I am eager to get my hands on a controller and start flinging Batarangs. The game drops 10/18 of this year. Make sure you check out the video below.

Yes folks, the Dark Knight himself finally makes his debut in the new Batman: Arkham City prequel comic. The comic is now available from DC Comics, conveniently in digital form for all you fans out there. The miniseries will span five issues, and covers the events that span the length of time between the first and second games.

Batman: Arkham Asylum isn’t supposed to release until October 18th this year, and the comic miniseries will release all the way up to that date. The second and third issues are due out next month, with the fourth issue arriving in late July. I assume that the final issue will be out sometime around August, or possibly September at the latest.

Paul Dini was one of the original writers for Batman, and he even wrote up the story lines for the two Batman games from RockSteady. Dini also contributed to the animated series by acting as producer. If you’re interested in picking up the first issue of the miniseries, you can do so by heading here. I highly recommend you do.

Coming this May is a miniseries from DC Comics based on the Batman: Arkham City video game. The six-issue miniseries will bridge the gap between the events of Batman: Arkham Asylum and the new title.

Paul Dini, the original writer for the Batman series, will be heading this project as well, writing the entire miniseries, with Carlos D’anda providing the artwork. Each issue will cost $2.99 and will be available in digital or print copies. In its first month the comic will be double shipped, meaning that both issues one and two will be available in the same month.

After that, be looking forward to a new issue each month.

“Fractured Future” is the newest trailer for DC Universe Online out from Blur. It shows another look into the future to see how Lex Luthor stole the exobytes from Braniac that produce the ability for anyone to turn themselves into a superhero or villain.

It surfaces new questions such as how did Lex Luthor obtain this ability? Will Batman and his friends be enough to stop his plot? Will people join the cause or take up evil sides?

Daniel Lieske makes a living by producing art for video games. During the daylight hours he is employed by Ascaron Entertainment in Germany, but by night he is his own artistic wizard. Lieske has worked on games such as the PC strategy game Sacred, and while his art for the game is great, he feels that is is somewhat constricted.

On Lieske’s site he went on to say, “…my personal style and the stories inside my head often have to step back in order to comply with commercial requirements,” so this is often why he works with media that has little to nothing to do with video games.

The piece of art pictured above is a snippet from his online graphic novel, The Wormworld Saga, and it is breathtaking. Readers can head to Lieske’s Wormworld Saga site here and read the online novel for free (which is definitely worth it), but they can also provide donations to the artist to aid in keeping the novel continuing, which I strongly encourage.

The art in this online novel is simply amazing. The words aren’t even necessary when the art looks this good. It seems to take you away to this world that Lieske has created, and it’s a beautiful world to live in. I can’t wait to see what this artist continues to push out.

In the passing years we have seen video games that were inspired by comics, and comics that drew their inspiration from video games. DeviantART user ewingsquadron decided to take the top video games of 2010 and reimagine them in comic form. Games like Assassin’s Creed, Heavy Rain, Bioshock, and Fallout: New Vegas have been dreamed up into amazing comic art.

inFamous, the action-adventure game for the PS3, was an amazing story of a comic book superhero story without the actual comic book to back it up. Thanks to the amazing geniuses over at DC Comics, the game now has its own comic book series on the way, with Doug Mahnke cover art to make it sizzle.

inFamous always had the desire to be a comic book. It was very clear in the cutscenes, dialogue, and gameplay that held the storyline together so well. Anyone can see that Cole MacGrath is a comic book hero, and I have felt that ever since I saw my first glimpses of the game. Six comic books will make up the inFamous series so far,  will be written by William Harms, and will feature artwork by Eric Nguyen – the amazing artist who has worked on many Marvel and DC projects over the years.

The series will follow Cole’s move from the inner workings of Empire City to the Southern town of New Marias. It all sounds like it is going to be great, and judging from the art, I would even venture to say it will be quite action-packed.

For those of you who enjoy stabbing, assassinations, and a good comic, you’ll be delighted to know that the second issue of Assassin’s Creed: The Fall is now available in all of your local comic stores.

The Fall tells the story of Nikolai Orelov, a mustachioed assassin who operates during the Russian revolution. The first issue is quite good, and this one keeps up the pace. Check it out when you get the chance.

Capcom, Capcom, Capcom, what a way to keep us at the edge of our seats! Today, the publisher released two new entries in the war that is Marvel VS Capcom 3. The first is a Capcom underdog turned hero, and the second is a villain from Marvel who gets a little hot-headed under pressure.

First off, from Capcom, it’s the lovable Viewtiful Joe! This half-pint hero has made his debut in the Marvel VS Capcom world, and is sure to pack a wallop of a punch!

The second, is the Marvel baddie known as Dorammu, the flaming-headed stalwart. Although not known to many in the household, Dorammu is sure to surprise all with his flaming vengeance!

Who knows what else is in store for this epic title? We can only look forward and hope to see even greater things to come!
