Sam’s Club Wii Bundle Isn’t So Great Of A Deal After All

By Feigned, Tuesday, November 18th, 2008

You know that old saying about how if something sounds too good to be true, that it probably is? Well this also applies to Black Friday. I tend to keep my eyes out for the best deals in advance, then pick a store to camp out in front of for the night. This year I had decided upon Sam’s Club, due to their ridiculously priced Wii package. Unfortunately reality kicked in, and I’ll be spending a cold morning somewhere else.

Apparently whoever leaked the Black Friday circular for Sam’s Club decided to have a bit of fun at all of our expense. They seem to have photoshopped the price to be around $200 cheaper than it actually was. The price we’re seeing now (though it hasn’t been confirmed) is $425, which while it’s still a decent deal, doesn’t seem quite as grabbing. We’ll keep you posted and let you know when we have an actual circular in our hands (or an official announcement) for the exact price.

  • Deals - Valve Complete Pack For $100 Includes Left 4 Dead

By Feigned, Monday, November 17th, 2008

I’ve been impressed by Steam for a long time, and am always more than happy to purchase a new title via the service. I think Valve really found that balance between giving the customers the freedom to actually play their purchased games when and where they want, and still combating piracy. Honestly, in order for a service like this to work, it not only has to be something people don’t mind using, but something they actually enjoy using. Of course, having excellent package deals on your games doesn’t hurt things either. Every now and then you’ll find a huge bundle of games for a good price, and right now is one of those times.

The Valve Complete Pack was recently made available, which combines 22 different Valve titles. The $99.99 price tag does seem a bit steep, until you look at everything you’re getting. Sure, you’ll see all of the titles from The Orange Box, but even its value pales in comparison to what you’re getting here. Hit the jump for a complete listing of games.

  • Sam’s Club Offers Up Killer Wii Bundle For Black Friday

By Feigned, Thursday, November 13th, 2008

I love Black Friday. There’s really nothing like staying up all night, standing in line while it’s freezing outside. Okay so it sucks, but the deals are totally worth it. Check out this awesome deal on a Wii over at Sam’s Club.

The members-only store has offered up a $224 Wii bundle that is the best I’ve ever seen. Not only will you be getting a Wii for $25 less than usual, but you’ll also get two extra Wiimotes and Nunchucks, along with Mario Super Sluggers and King of Clubs Mini-Golf. I can’t imagine that these will last long, so you’ll want to get there really early.

  • Score A $100 Gift Card When You Buy A PS3 At Walmart

By Feigned, Thursday, November 6th, 2008

It’s no small secret that the PS3 is the most expensive console this holiday season. Sony has already said that they have no intention of cutting prices (actually, they’re quite comfortable selling even more expensive bundles), so we have to turn to individual retailers for good deals. That said, if you’re looking to pick up said console for either yourself or a relative, then you might consider *shudder* heading to Walmart.

Yes, I hate Walmart, and you won’t find me anywhere near their electronics section this, or any other holiday season. However, if you want to save a hundred bucks, they’ve got a one-day sale going on this Saturday, November 8th. While getting a $100 gift card isn’t technically the same as saving a hundred bucks, it’s about as close as you can get. Just turn around and spend that card on groceries, gas or something else you’d planned on purchasing. Presto! Change-o! You’ve got cash.

  • Sears Offers Limited Edition DS Bundles For Black Friday

By Feigned, Tuesday, October 28th, 2008

November is nearly here, which means we’ll be catching wind of the upcoming Black Friday deals. I seriously pile money under my mattress all year long just so I can get cheap goods in exchange for waiting in the freezing cold. The first deal I’ve seen thus far is this one from Sears.

It looks like they’re offering up two different limited edition Nintendo DS bundles for $149 each. You can choose from an Ice Blue with Brain Age, or Red (with the Mario M) with Super Mario Bros. It might not be the biggest bargain of the season, but that red Mario DS does look pretty cool.

  • 20GB Xbox 360 Going For $199 At Best Buy Canada

By Feigned, Monday, October 6th, 2008

I’m sure that a few of you out there are from Canada, which means that you’ll be able to get your hands on an Xbox 360 Pro for pretty cheap. If you head over to your local Best Buy (in Canada only) you’ll be able to nab one of the 20GB Xbox 360 Pro’s for just $199.

Sure, there are 60GB 360’s out there, but if you can buy one with a 20GB hard drive for the same price as an Arcade, then I’d jump on it. You’ll only have until Thursday October 9th to take advantage of the offer.

  • Xbox Live Vision Bundle Gets Clearanced To $49

By Feigned, Thursday, October 2nd, 2008

If you’re looking for a good deal on an Xbox Live Gold Membership, MS Points and XBLA games, then you might keep your eye out for the Xbox Live Vision bundle. Ordinarily, this wouldn’t have been anything to write home about, however, the new clearance price makes it worth the cash.

If you pick up this bundle at the new lower price of $49, you’ll be able to get a 1-year Gold membership, 200 Microsoft points, two XBLA games, a wired headset and the Vision camera. That’s like buying a 1-year Gold card at regular price and getting everything else thrown in. Chances are that these will be going fast, so you’ll want to get one quickly.
