However, GameStop and Amazon have listed Playstation 3G bundle that’s including lots of goodies: an 8 GB memory card, a voucher for a free Playstation Network game, and a free month of 250 MB 3G service.

Now, I know what you’re thinking. You’re probably thinking “Well, that’s great and all, but how much does it cost?” That’s the beautiful part of it, because it’s listed at $300 as well! And even though the Wi-Fi only version is $50 less, when you consider that you’re going to have to buy a memory card (which is retailing around $30 anyway), plus the fact that you get a free game and a month of 3G service, it might just be worth it to get the bundle, even if you don’t plan on using the 3G service.

As it has been well documented, the Vita isn’t doing so well in Japan. This bundle might be the thing that helps keep the Vita from failing altogether. I guess we’ll see what happens whenever the Vita is released on February 22nd.

PlayStation 3D Display On Sale At Best Buy For $300

Deals

Hardware

Sony

Sony made a PlayStation 3D display that went on the shelves on November 13. Only about a month later, it has seen a sale that gives you $100 off the original price at Best Buy. Obviously the economy is not doing so great, so it’s nice to see a decent amount get lopped of something that is expensive.

Does this mean we’re all going to run out and buy the thing? No, likely not. But, seeing as it does have that nifty feature of displaying separate images for two players, it will entice us to do so just a little bit more. For this $300 price, you will also get a pair of 3D glasses, and a copy of MotorStorm Apocalypse.

If you aren’t all about a new display, then you may want to look into the other game deals Best Buy has going. A few examples being the $100 gift card with a 4GB Kinect Bundle, $30 gift card with purchase of a 3DS, and buy two get one free Kinect games. Money is tight this holiday season, so try and spread some cheer at a reasonable price.
Source

PSN Holiday Collection 2011

Deals

PS Vita

PS2

PS3

PSP

Sony

If you weren’t excited enough over the Duke Nukem Forever DLC that arrived the other day, then take a look at all of the holiday deals PSN has going on. If you’ve ever wanted to get your friends into the MMO, this is the time to do so. From now until December 19th each of the WoW games (expansions too) are on sale.

The World of Warcraft Battle Chest is just $5, which includes the original game and its first expansion, The Burning Crusade. The next expansion, Wrath of the Lich King is just $10, and the final and most recent expansion, Cataclysm, can be snagged for $20. This means that for the cool price of $35 you can gift the entire WoW experience which includes a free month of playtime.

Along with the game discounts, Blizzard has discounted the Pandaren Monk pet to $5, and the celestial mount has been dropped to $10. There’s savings to be had all over the place now! This is great for fans of the game who want a second account, as well as those who have been on the free trial and want to take their game to the next level. If you’re looking to get into the World of Warcraft MMO, right now is the time. It’ll certainly be a holly-jolly Christmas this year.
Source

Nvidia GTX 580s To Go On Sale For $380 Soon

Announcements

Deals

GPU

Nvidia

PC Gaming

Black Friday and Cyber Monday week has recently passed and that means a bunch of you bought some new computer hardware with all of the awesome deals. If you bought a graphics card though, you may want to rethink it! The new Nvidia GPU architecture titled “Kepler” is coming out early to mid 2012 and they are putting their GTX 580s on sale for a low low price.

With the new architecture right around the corner, Nvidia wants to clean the shelves to make room for the new stuff. Right now Nvidia 580s will run a buyer about $600. After the upcoming discount, 580s will run about $380. Hopefully this decreases the prices of all Nvidia cards for people who are wanting to buy lower end cards as well.

There are four main reasons to this discount. The first one is to make room for the newer models on the shelves which was explained above, the second is to increase the sales volume, the third is to clear previous stocks, and the fourth is to step counter the AMD Radeon HD 7000 Series. This is great news for all Nvidia fans planning to upgrade in the near future. This deal is planned to roll out sometime in December and it’s not known how long it will stay.
Source

GamerFront’s 2011 Holiday Gift Guide – Gifts for the Children

3DS

Deals

PC Gaming

PS3

Wii

Xbox 360

(Don’t you want your kids to look like this on Christmas morning?) With Thanksgiving merely a week away, those Black Friday plans are getting strewn out across dining room tables, and war paint is being set up for the battlefield. Parents are trying to get geared up to head out in search of early Christmas gifts for their children, and we’re here to help ease the pain as much as possible. From now, leading up to right before Christmas, we’ll be rolling out holiday gift guides that will touch on many different types of loved ones who, if they’re into gaming, will appreciate everything that’s up for offer. To kick it off, we’ll be starting with our picks for the kids this season.

So, to get this started, here’s our top five picks for the gaming child on your list this year:

LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars – (PS3, 3DS, Wii, Xbox 360, PSP, PC) – MSRP $19.99

For fans of LEGOs and the Star Wars series alike, this game is sure to excite your child for quite a while. The game follows the story of the Clone Wars series, and touches on the animated series that has been shown on Cartoon Network. Your child can take the role of a number of heroes in the Star Wars storyline and defeat the leaders of evil in efforts to provide justice across the galaxy.

Skylanders: Spyro’s Adventure – (PS3, 3DS, Wii, Xbox 360, PC) – MSRP $69.99

As we reviewed earlier in the month, Skylanders: Spyro’s Adventure adds a brand new way to enjoy video games. It comes bundled with three characters (which are actual action figures) that are used with the included stand to play as in the game’s virtual world. Players will choose their character, place them on the base, and bring them to life in the game. Players will embark on a fantastical journey into an amazing mysterious world, where they will explore mythical lands, battle outlandish creatures, collect gold and treasures, and solve interesting puzzles on a quest to save their world from an evil Portal Master known as Kaos. There are over 30 collectible characters to pick up, which will entertain your child with many playtime hours. For more information on the game, check out our review.

Super Mario 3D Land – (3DS) – MSRP $39.99

For the handheld gaming little one in the family, Super Mario 3D Land takes players into a massive 3D world on the 3DS like never before. With the classic system of old school Mario, including lovable and favored characters from the series, the game allows players to journey through the Mushroom Kingdom in full 3D without the use of special glasses. Even the coveted Tanooki suit makes a comeback in the latest Mario game, making it the perfect gift for the growing gamer!

Kinectimals – (Xbox 360 with Kinect) – MSRP $29.99

If you’ve had the chance to grab a Kinect for the Xbox 360, then Kinectimals is a great title to grab for the kids. Kinectimals uses the Kinect peripheral to allow players to fully interact with on-screen animals by responding to voice, petting movements, and much more. Children and parents alike can get into this game and make connections with exotic animals seen the world over. It’s a great gift that will help bring the family together all while making some great new virtual friends.

Kirbys Return To Dreamland – (Wii) – MSRP $49.99

Kirby and his friends are back in an adventure designed to satisfy longtime Kirby fans and beginners alike. When an alien spaceship crashes in the otherwise peaceful realm of Pop Star, its pieces are scattered throughout the land. Players must guide Kirby as he retrieves the ship’s parts and helps the aliens return to their home planet. This time, however, he’s not alone. At any time, up to three more players can join in the fun and play as Meta Knight, King Dedede and Waddle Dee to help Kirby in his quest. The game incorporates special power ups, engaging platforming, and a fabled storyline all within a cartoon world that’s vivid and colorful. Your child would become wrapped up in this game for hours, making it another great gift idea.

Each of these ideas are perfect for any gamer, but especially for the children, and those who are children at heart. I personally remember playing Kirby back when I was growing up, and if you own a Wii it’s a must-have title. Keep and eye out right here for more holiday gift guides in the coming days. GameStop knows this all too well, and they’ve already implemented their layaway program and have it up and running early this year. This is one way to ensure you can get some of those more expensive gifts out of the way while you have time to do so.

With the arrival of the Kinect and PS3 Move not so long ago, GameStop came up with a new program that would allow customers to put systems on layaway so that they can be paid for over time. From now until December 18th (tentatively), customers can come into their local GameStop store and choose from a variety of systems to put on layaway until they are paid off in full. Just $25 down will guarantee you a system, whether it be a new Xbox 360, PS3, or Wii, and you’ll have until the deadline to get it completely paid off.

There’s no pressure, and you can come pay however much you want across the span of time it’s in the program. This way, you can spread the price out over installments instead of paying a huge chunk of money up front for your system. To answer your brimming questions, only systems can be put on layaway. Games and accessories are excluded from the program. Still, it’s a nice way to get a head start on that Christmas list.

The Dark Meadow Gets A Price Cut And Update For Halloween

Announcements

Deals

iPhone

Survival Horror

Every so often an iOS game comes along that is so amazing, it’s scary. An awesome deal is going on over at Futureshop to get a new PlayStation 3, Infamous 2, Battlefield 3, and Batman: Arkham City in a bundle all for just $299! Can it get much better? Well yes it can. The PlayStation 3 in question is the 320gig slim. The individual total of all of this is just over $500, so this is an ultimate steal.

Things like this make me wish that I had held off on buying a PS3 until now. Keep in mind, though, that this deal is for online orders only and there has been no word regarding this deal in stores. If you’ve been wanting to buy a PS3, this is the time to get it, because I don’t think you’ll find a deal like this anytime soon.

There’s been a lot of news regarding Sony and PlayStation 3, but this is finally some great news! Hopefully the recent hack against Sony doesn’t hurt Sony too much, so they can keep giving us great games, great consoles, and great customer service. Also, props to Futureshop for this awesome deal.

Edit: It appears that they have removed Arkham City from the bundle. However, Infamous 2 and Battlefield 3 are still included.
Source
