Popular, blonde, cheerleader type with a mentor that constantly is falling into her boobs and staring up her skirt. Overly perverted, you bet. Although, at least you get to kill things.

This super fanservice game is all about attractive ladies and killing the undead. It is due for release on June 12, 2012, and is going to be full of juicy and delicious death. We sort of knew that Juliet (the main character) is on a quest to save her boyfriend and return her high school back to normal, but with this video from Kadokawa games, we get a bit of a closer look into things.

It seems as though the rotten world has somehow opened, and is seeping into this one. It’s up to Juliet Starling, alongside her Dad, and friends Cordelia and Rosalind to kick some undead butt. You’ll have all sorts of nifty weapons to choose from, and some ridiculous outfits to wear that will give you no help in the way of armor.
Source

Creators of Space Quest Series Creating New Space Adventure

Announcements

Humor

Indie Games

PC Gaming

If you’re a fan of the old school adventure games, then you’ll pleased to note that the creators of the Space Quest series, Mark Crowe and Scott Murphy, have teamed up again and will be developing a brand new game, which they call a “SPACEVENTURE™” . Though they have not announced much about it, other than that it’s a space adventure game, they did say that they are accepting resumes for different positions in the game.

For those of you who don’t know, the Space Quest series was developed by Mark and Scott and the first installment was released in October of 1986. The games relied on puns and wacky storylines based on parodying both sci-fi and pop-culture phenomena, making the games a huge success. This new game will mark the first time that Mark and Scott have worked together since Space Quest IV: Roger Wilco and the Time Rippers.

I’ll admit, I’ve never had the chance to play these games for myself, but after looking at their website, I think I might have to give some of their games a shot. They both seem like 2 genuine, funny guys who just love to make games, and when somebody creates a game as a labor of love, you know you’re going to have something special. I’ll be looking forward to hearing more about this game, that’s for sure!
Source

Hottest Game Of The Year Only Available In North Korea!

Action Games

Humor

Indie Games

Off-Topic

PC Gaming

In what is possibly one of the greatest coups ever recorded, North Korea seems to have snagged the hottest game of the year and it’s only available inside the country. That’s right, I’m talking about North Korea Tractor Simulator!

All joking aside, I find it interesting to see what a country like North Korea, who controls everything about the media in any way, shape, or form, does with this power. The answer it to apparently develop a monstrosity designed to teach students how to drive a tractor in North Korea, while apparently not wasting any of their precious fuel. The image was taken Samijyon Schoolchildren’s Palace in Samijyon, North Korea. The facility itself was built for kids to take part in after school programs designed to teach them skills for the North Korean real world.

I do have this to say, though. That CRT monitor that the kid is staring into is probably extremely rare and valuable for the average North Korean, and that’s kind of sad, really. In any other industrialized nation, such a monitor would likely be thrown into the streets if people weren’t concerned about the environmental impact.

Source

Yogventures! If people make good games, they get funded. End of story. Sometimes people are trying to have a get rich quick scheme, but normally the people of the internet can spot those a mile away.

I am quite a fan of the Yogscast, so the creation of the Yogventure! Kickstarter project is quite a wonderful thing. While I find the idea of making a game off of their shows a bit crazy, I can’t help but give them a pat on the back for it. They themselves will not be making the game, but they will be working alongside Winterkewl Games, who are quite well-versed in making games.

To describe this game, “Think adventure maps in Minecraft, only now you aren’t limited to just blocks!” There’s some sort of technology called “Marching Cubes” that will generate new world terrain that is both random and editable. There will be many characters from The Yogscast series, so you’ll be playing as characters that you already know and love. This game has about 25 days to go, but it has gone over halfway to its goal.

Nintendo 3DS Commercial Wants To Be Viral

3DS

Humor

videos

WTF?

Writing this post has put me in quite a dilemma. While I don’t find this particular commercial very funny, they seem to address everything you would think people think about when making internet commercials. By writing about it in general, I almost feel dirty for spreading this to more people.

Nintendo was fully aware how non-subtle and non-funny this commercial is, as they put it in the description of their video on YouTube. This leads me to question whether I find this funny, or sad. There is obviously a lot of time and effort that went into this video, but the content is just sort of ridiculous (and not in a good way).

There’s product placement, models, an actor, and people getting kicked in the nuts. We have all seen videos that contain these things, as it’s in our everyday lives. However, has Nintendo gone a bit overboard with this one? Does it have hints of hilarity? Or is it just as terrible as my heart feels that it is?

How Most Of Us Play Skyrim [Net Loot]

Humor

videos

Whenever you think of Skyrim, you think of dragons, ancient, evil foes, and heroic music. It’s a pretty awesome sword-slinging, magic firing good time, but when you really look at how you play the game, it might not paint the same picture. Looking at the forest instead of the trees, or something along those lines.

It isn’t normally one epic battle after another, and everyone knows it. There’s a lot of traveling, and tiny things varying from side quests to curious looking buildings to address along the way. Dragons are few and far in between, and you’re going to see more wolves and wildflowers than anything else.

If you were to describe this game, you would talk about all of your accomplishments, but YouTube user timtimfed shows us the tiny steps it takes to get to those successes. In a video called “How I Play Skyrim,” we get to see how most of us actually play the game. He also portrays what I find to be one of the most annoying things about the game. They sent about 400 cupcakes to express their point. The order was divided into thirds, three different colors, but all tasting the same. Short, sweet, and to the point.

This was a rather costly endeavor, which racked up a bill at Fuss Cupcakes of about $1,005. Many people donated, and were hoping the the Bioware team would consider changing the endings for Mass Effect 3. They likely weren’t expecting the response they received.

On the developer’s forums, Chris Priestly explained that because the cupcakes were not sent to celebrate the accomplishment of making this game, they didn’t feel right eating them. Instead, they gave the delicious snacks to a local youth shelter. Some of the backers of this endeavor were upset with this stunt, while others were impressed. You can make your own opinions.

Today, we received the 400 cupcakes you collectively sent us through your donations to express your feelings about the endings of Mass Effect 3. We want you to know; we are indeed listening to all fan response and acknowledge your feedback. We appreciate creative and thoughtful attempts like this one.

The gesture certainly gained our attention both with its creativity and deliciousness. However, while we do appreciate that fans were creative in how they expressed their views, after a lot of discussion, we decided ultimately the reason that they were sent was not done in the context of celebrating the work or accomplishment of the Mass Effect 3 team. This is a subtle, but important aspect in determining how to pass the feedback to the team.

BioWare regularly works with many deserving charities, as such it was decided that rather than passing out the cupcakes to staff or wasting good food, to donate them on behalf of our fans to a local Edmonton youth shelter. We know that for the kids that have to use this facility, something as simple as a cupcake is a rare treat and would definitely brighten up their day. Thank you to the fine folks at the local youth shelter for accepting the donation and to the fans who donated the cupcakes.

Please keep providing your feedback on Mass Effect 3, we’re still listening.

Angry Birds…In Seattle?

Humor

iPhone

PC Gaming

WTF?

Well, it seems as though Angry birds Space has had a successful beginning, what with being downloaded about 10 million times in the first three days. There were sixty new levels to toss around some perturbed birds in, but players have already begun begging for more. If you’re wanting to jump on this bandwagon, it will cost you anywhere from $0.99 for iOS to about $6 for the Windows PC adless version.

We have seen a lot of crazy things erected in honor of Angry Birds, but this one might just take the prize. The Seattle Space Needle now has a very angry bird in a slingshot aimed towards the sky. This is obviously for the new Space game, but the real question is…does it really work?

Of course not. Is it going to end up in someone’s back yard, looking menacingly at the neighbors?
Source

Octodad: Dadliest Catch

Announcements

Humor

Indie Games

PC Gaming

Trailers

videos

We do seem to love things that flail about. Why else do you think people would put themselves through the hell that is QWOP? Of course, it’s nice to play games that don’t frustrate us that much, so why not play something that will provide more entertainment than pressing a couple of keys in the right succession?

It is called Octodad: The Dadliest Catch, and it is hilarious. This is the second in the Octodad series, and will have the same hilarious controls as its predecessor. It’s name alone makes me want to see what Young Horses has come up with in this game.

Sadly, we’ll have to wait until next year to play this humorous masterpiece. It was successfully funded on KickStarter, but every game takes some time to put together. We can expect this game at some point in time during 2013 for Windows, Mac, and Linux platforms.
Source
