Review - ezStand Keeps Your Plastic Guitar Upright

By Feigned, Wednesday, November 5th, 2008

I tend to take the rocking of plastic instruments a bit too seriously at times, but it’s something I enjoy. One of the issues I run into with my guitar controllers is of where to place them when they aren’t in use. I generally keep at least one of them leaned up against my entertainment center, however, that’s not the most ideal situation. I’ve had the opportunity to check out this ezStand from ezGear, which is exactly what I’ve been needing.

The ezStand is quite simply a smaller version of a regular guitar stand. I do actually own a real guitar, so I took a picture of the my real guitar stand next to the one from ezGear. In most respects, they are very similar. There really isn’t much to this product, though it’s worth noting that the neck is height adjustable, and the entire unit is constructed of a light but durable metal, similar to my larger stand.

Review - AC/DC Live: Rock Band Track Pack

By Feigned, Sunday, November 2nd, 2008

Today marks the release of Rock Band’s first true expansion, dubbed AC/DC Live: Rock Band Track Pack. This collection of music is entirely comprised from the band’s Live at Donnington show. This includes 18 live tracks, which adds up to over 100 minutes of gameplay (more if you decide to play through on different instruments). I’ve spent the last several days rocking out with the expansion, so it’s time I shared my experiences with you. Hit the jump for my full review of the game.

Review - Rock Band 2, Plastic-Rock Done Right

By Apathy, Tuesday, September 30th, 2008

Rock Band has become something of a centerpiece among my core group of friends, it’s an excellent game with a continuous stream of new songs to choose from. There is something to be said about grown men rocking out on plastic instruments; awesome.

While not much has changed with the core mechanics of the game, 1-4 players on guitar, bass, vocals or drums, there have been many enhancements that are welcome. First on most everyone’s list is online world tour mode, no longer are players forced to wait for those rare occasions they can meet up in the “real” world. While many were disappointed that this feature was missing from the first game, it looks like Harmonix decision to hold off and invest in a proper online world tour mode has paid off.

Nevermind the Headphones, Here Comes the Neckphones

By Apathy, Wednesday, August 27th, 2008

SteelSeries Siberia Neckband

A good set of headphones is a treasure for those of us who want the best in gaming sound without disturbing the peace of those around us. On the other hand, a bad set of headphones can really detract from the gaming experience by not staying in place, hurting your ears over time, or simply by being uncomfortable. Having had a chance to test-drive the SteelSeries Siberia Neckband headphones and while they aren’t the nirvana of gaming headphones they still manage to be a cut above most.

NZXT Guardian 921

Today I’m going to kick off the first of many reviews here at GamerFront with the Guardian 921 case from NZXT.
