Tree Connect- Tree Apps
We recently received a game designed for the iPhone 4 called, “Tree Connect” from the lovely people at Tree Apps. Although I am not so fancy as to have the latest version, I was pleased to find it works just fine on my 3-year-old iPhone.
Tree Connect is a color-based matching game that relies on a sharp eye and quick reflexes; this is a game that had me attached to my phone for…let’s just say a good minute or more… Drum kit beats that make you want to bob along play in the background as you tap the correct colored buttons to get as many as you can within the time limits of 15” 30” 1’ or 3’. (By the way, the sounds in the start menu, and when you hit the correct colors in game…I love them so hardcore; yes, I do realize that is a really strange thing to say and irrelevant. :]) You can go easy and pick only two colors, or really make it a challenge for yourself with 5. There is no losing to this game as the focus is just to hit as many as possible. The phone will vibrate to let you know if you hit a wrong color, but doesn’t stop or pause the game. If you have Bluetooth then you can challenge friends and compare your high score on a global scale.
It does take some time to get used to matching the colors and going at a fairly good speed, but apparently it’s just me as Chris snatched it away and beat my high score no problem. (Don’t worry; I’ll fix this in a jiffy because he just got lucky.) Having the annoying ability to see these geometric shapes as both 3D and 2D, and having my eyes switch between one and the other was positively agitating, but over time it stopped being an issue as they decided to settle in one format.
The only real problems I’ve had is that my phone hasn’t kept up with the game when I go too fast. Being as this game was just released this month, it could be a bug, but as it was built for a more modern version of the iPhone, I can see how it would be the fault of the age of my phone.
Overall this is a great game and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who likes color matching games…and has an iPhone. It’s only $0.99, and has already been a blast for the short amount of time it’s been in my possession.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I have to go beat Chris’s score to all hell. :D
