If you’re anything like me, you’ve probably been following the Duke Nukem Forever saga since its inception. If you’re not old enough to remember the late 90’s, then you’ll want to exit the page now. This is grown-up stuff.
Lets say that you’d played through the other adventures with the Duke, and you diligently went down to Funcoland and pre-ordered Duke Nukem Forever. Let’s also assume that you’ve had enough faith over the last dozen years or so and still have your receipt. Shouldn’t you be entitled to a game? Gearbox says yes.
The company has reached out to retailers that may have sold pre-orders for the game over the many years it has been in development. Essentially, they are wanting to make sure that every faithful customer that pre-ordered the game is still going to get their money’s worth. Granted, that falls mostly on GameStop’s shoulders, since it seems like they’ve assimilated every major gaming store that was in existence at the end of the last decade.
There’s no word yet on exactly what is going to happen to these pre-orders, but we’ll definitely keep you posted. Honestly, I’m waiting to see Slash000 get some kind of awesome Duke swag for his patience, since he is indeed quite the patient man.
