The new Rock Band 3 Squier guitar has finally been priced. Players will be able to throwdown with the new peripheral on March 1, 2011 for $279.00. Pre-orders for the guitar will start on January 1st.

The price is a bit steep, yes, but here are some things to consider:

• it is full size
• it has 22 frets like a real guitar
• the neck is made of authentic maple just as other Fenders
• the guitar can be used with the game, and without it through an amp
• it’s totally awesome

I would advise you to start saving now, or ask for GameStop gift cards for Christmas to put money towards this bad boy.
