Catherine Is Hard, And We Want Her Easy
Atlus, the developer behind the Catherine RPG told fans that the game would surely not be a walk in the park, and Japanese players completely agree. In fact, they are complaining that the game’s Easy Mode is more like a normal game’s Hard Mode. Japanese Amazon reviews for the game indicate that the game is extremely difficult and is full of scattered players saying it’s too hard to continue playing.
Atlus is hearing players’ cries, though, and will be pushing a patch to the game that should tone down the difficulty, in hopes that players will actually be able to play through the story.
Catherine Director Katsura Hashino stated that, “Perhaps all staff members grew too accustomed to the game,” hinting that they didn’t realize how hard the game actually is.
Or could it be that some gamers have just lost their edge?
