Black Ops ‘Escalation’ Map Pack Now Available On Xbox Live

The latest map pack for Call of Duty: Black Ops, Escalation, is now available on Xbox Live. Players can grab it for 1200 Microsoft Points, just like the First Strike pack before it. The content pack adds four new multiplayer maps as well as a new zombie map to the game. The maps included are:

  • “Hotel,” where players battle it out on the roof of a Cuban luxury hotel and casino against the vivid backdrop of old Havana
  • “Convoy,” which delivers intense, close-quarters combat at the scene of an ambushed U.S. military convoy
  • “Zoo,” which sets gamers on an eerie ride through an abandoned Soviet Russian Zoo with danger at every turn
  • “Stockpile,” which pits players in a remote Russian farm town, housing secret WMD facilities
  • “Call of the Dead,” Escalation’s Zombie experience that assembles a zombie-carnage dream team to fight against a new and undefeatable zombie horde menace, all set in the dark, ice-covered isles of Siberia.

Call of the Dead is quite the special map, I must say. On the map players will fill the shoes of some of the most macho characters, including Danny Trejo, Michael Rooker, and Sarah Michelle Gellar herself (we all know how macho she is). The new map also features George A. Romero, and a new original track called “Not Ready to Die” from Avenged Sevenfold.

This is a big deal for Activision. The release of Escalation was taken well at the studio, while a grudge match was held for ultimate Call of Duty bragging rights. Some famous names made an appearance, including Deron Williams of the New Jersey Nets, and Tyreke Evans of the Sacramento Kings. Let’s hope that this new map pack is worth the celebration it’s getting.
