Blizzard Successfully Raises $800k From WoW DLC For Make-A-Wish

The Make-A-Wish Foundation has received quite a hefty donation from the massive overseers at Blizzard. The company was able to offer $800,000 to the foundation, all raised from DLC pets. Blizzard offered little “Moonkin Hatchling” pets for World of Warcraft for $10, and enough players bought them to make this donation a reality.

The company also invited the Make-A-Wish children to the studio to check out exactly how it looks behind the scenes. On April 29th, “World Wish Day,” the children got to tour the Blizzard studio and meet the development team. Blizzard ran a similar promotion about a year ago, which featured a Pandaren Monk, and raised $1.1 million for the organization.

It’s great to see the company offer this kind of help where it’s needed. I know a lot of people out there see Blizzard as a money-hungry corporation, but this would ease that at least a bit I would hope. Thanks to all the players out there who helped make this happen.
