Gotham City Imposters – A Game Without Batman

Gotham Cityy Imposters is a new game being developed by Monolith, the same company responsible for the F.E.A.R. series. The game is essentially a 4v4 team-based shooter featuring a bunch of people pretending to pose as the Dark Knight fighting another bunch of people posing as the Joker and his Arkham counterparts.

I don’t see how well the game will pan out, but I can say that promoting a Batman game without Batman is going to be tough work. The game does have its high points, though, such as full on customization. Players can customize their character’s look, which will actually affect abilities in the field. Weapons are also customizable, and so is its ammo. It comes down to much more than just how something looks.

Performing well earns experience points which rewards cash. The cash can be used to purchase new parts for weapons, new costume pieces, and more. The more you act, the more cash you have, which really sets you apart from other competitors. The game looks so far as if it would perform well as an online shooter.

Not too much more is known about the game, other than the fact that it’s set to be a downloadable title. Gotham City Imposters will release sometime later this year on the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC. When more information comes available, we’ll be sure to get on it. What do you think so far?
