Red Faction: Armageddon PC Demo Is OnLive Exclusive

THQ’s new Red Faction: Armageddon title will be offering a PC demo, but it’s all about being exclusive. The game’s demo will release via OnLive – the internet streaming service – and players who want to get in on the action will need to sign up for an OnLive account in order to participate.

Armageddon will release on June 6th, and only then will it be on Steam and Direct2Drive. Until that date the game can only be found via OnLive. The platform has secured the exclusive access to the game, which means only they can offer it. Players can head here to sign up for an OnLive account to access the demo, which is free.

If you manage to have a large amount of bandwidth then you’re in luck. OnLive’s service puts the game directly on their server, and streams it in virtual real-time. This means that you can even play the game on your Mac or netbook, given the right requirements. Remember this, however, just because OnLive has the exclusive demo doesn’t mean that players have to purchase the full game through them. OnLive is basically using this demo as an opportunity to show how well the service works with demos, providing  satisfaction across the country. Either way it goes, the demo is now available through the service, so I recommend heading over and creating a free account to try it out.
