Battlefield 3 ‘Physical Warfare’ DLC Will Be Free For All Players

DICE, the developer behind Battlefield 3, announced on their blog dealing with the Battlefield 3 Physical Warfare DLC pack controversy that has been causing tons of issues with players all over the globe. Now the DLC will be free to all players.

The company has had to deal with many aggravated players over the supposed “Day 0” DLC. The Physical Warfare pack will include an exclusive light machine gun, an early unlocked shotgun, and depending on where you pre-order the title, either a flash suppressor weapon of some flechette ammo for the unlocked shotgun. The suppressor will be the only one issued in the game for the SKS sniper rifle, and it cuts down on player awareness of your location. Those who pre-ordered the game will also receive the Back to Karkand expansion pack for free.

On the blog, a statement reads, “So maybe this is stating the obvious, but all of us at DICE are here because of our passion for games and the passion to bring you the games we too love to play. I always knew our pre-order offers for Battlefield 3 would be open to misunderstandings.” Though this was said, it still seems that the company is the one left with misunderstandings. Players simply don’t like the idea of Day 0 DLC, and the idea of split DLC items based on where they pre-order the title. No matter how much time was put into the DLC packs, they still exist as Day 0 DLC, and the critics are still angered.

You can check out the full blog post here, and I encourage you to do so. After reading it, what do you think about it? Do you think DICE is doing a good thing with this new decision, or are they just catering?
