Capcom has apparently found an exploit in the 3DS’ game cartridge system and will be implementing it to its full intentions in Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D. This exploit will keep gamers tied to the product via an inseparable bond.
Basically, you cannot ever delete your saved game file. This means that used copies of the game would be useless to players who want to start from the beginning. The information was spotted in the game’s manual, which warned, “Note: Saved data on this software cannot be reset.”:
Though it hasn’t been confirmed, it is speculated that Capcom did this solely to halt the sales of used titles, which hurts the developer in the end. If any player wants to start fresh with the game, they will have no choice but to by a brand new copy of the game at full price. Of course, Capcom has yet to comment on the issue. What do you think?
