Red Faction: Origins Movie Now Airing On SyFy

A film meant to bridge the gap between Red Faction: Guerilla and Red Faction: Armageddon had its premiere recently on the SyFy channel. The film is called Red Faction: Origins, and it’s seemed to go over well. In case you missed it, the film is set to air again tonight at around 5:30 PM EST, 4:30 PM CST on SyFy.

The story of the film takes place roughly 25 years after the events of Guerilla, and Robert Patrick is cast as an older Alec Mason. In Origins Mason has adopted the drink to drown his sorrows dealing with his murdered wife and lost daughter. From the minute the film starts fans will pick up on Red Faction structure design, clothing, and logos from within the games. It’s perfect.

I have to say that I am impressed with what SyFy did with the film. I usually don’t expect much from them these days, as they’re mainly into low-budget projects. With Red Faction: Origins, however, it doesn’t really look like they skimped on anything. If you have the chance definitely check out the movie when it airs later tonight. You will kick yourself if you don’t.
