Wii U Only Allows One Touch Screen Controller Per Console [E3 2011]

According to Shigeru Miyamoto, it is unlikely that more than one touchscreen controller can be used on a single Wii U console, news that will be a big upset for many Nintendo fans.

“Our basic premise is that you can use one with a system. If we got to an idea of having multiple, it might be just more convenient for people to use their Nintendo 3DS and have a way to connect that. That being said, we are doing research about if someone brings their controller to their friend’s house and they want to play together on Wii U to whether or not something like that would be possible,” said Miyamoto about the situation.

If you are not the lucky one who gets to use the touchscreen, you will be restricted to Wii Remotes, Nun Chucks, and Classic Controllers, giving you a “different” gaming experience than the lucky player with touchscreen.

For me this news is very disappointing and a little of an upset, however I still will give the Wii U a chance and see how it plays. This could be a big potential upset, and it could lead to a decline in interest for the system. What do you think?
