A little while ago we posted some news on a brand new Sherlock Holmes title being developed for the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC. Frogwares has been a long-running developer behind quite a few Sherlock Holmes games, and this is their best-looking endeavor yet. Take a minute to check out the new screens for the game posted above.
The plot behind The Testament of Sherlock Holmes is a simple, yet intriguing one. All the evidence of police investigation points at Sherlock Holmes as the main suspect in a case involving theft, fraud and double-crossings. Unable to prove his own innocence, Holmes is rapidly losing London’s trust as doubt spreads through the city like wildfire. Even Doctor Watson’s faith in his friend begins to waver, as the famous detective flees Scotland Yard and raises further suspicion; prowling around at night, destruction of evidence… would Holmes go so far as to commit murder?
The game is looking good, and we should be expecting it to hit later this year. For a nice investigative title, Sherlock Holmes is the man for the job. There hasn’t been any details whether the game will be a “point-and-click” adventure, or whether it will be a title reminiscent of L.A. Noire. Looks like we’ll just have to wait on that one.
