New King of Fighters Title Comes To iOS From SNK

SNK Playmore USA has just announced a worldwide release of The King of Fighers-i for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch. the game is available now on the app store for $7.99.

The new King of Fighters title keeps true to the game’s 2D style, offering vivid colors, a series of fluid fighting styles, and tough combos that will keep any fan happy. The game is compatible with Game Center, the iOS’ favored service for online leaderboard tracking, and offers four modes of play: Team Battle, Single Battle, Endless Mode, and Training Mode. All of these game modes are reminiscent of those found in the classic console titles. Players can choose from 14 legendary fighters, including Kyo Ksanagi, K, and Ash Crimson. The game also sees the return of Billy Kane, who hasn’t shown up in the series since back in 2003.

You can challenge friends over local wireless play via Bluetooth, as well as exchange trading cards, and more. SNK even plans to release free additional content starting in October, later this year, and plans to add new characters, taking the roster up to at least 20.
