Taking their new RPG very much in-depth, Bethesda has announced that players will be able to have same-sex marriages in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. This means Khajit/Khajit marriages, Nord/Nord marriages, and any other mix you can think of, even if you both share the same gender.
Vice President of PR and Marketing at Bethesda, Pete Hines confirmed this announcement on his Twitter account. He also went on to say that “You can marry anyone. Not any NPC,” he clarified, “just mean any male or female. Doesn’t matter what you’re playing.” This is definitely something new to the series.
That being said, now we know what the real difficulty of the game will be. It’s not the monsters, the orcs, the trolls, or even the fire-breathing dragons. No, it’s the ever-impending threat of marriage! Yeah, you can fight a bloodthirsty dragon, or have a heated argument with your spouse, the choice is yours! Of course, I kid, but this is some great new information about the game. It’s always good to hear that developers don’t discriminate, don’t you agree?
