Battlefield 3 Beta Is Ready, Waiting For Sony And Microsoft To Give The Green Light

Itching to get your  hands on the Battlefield 3 beta? We still don’t have a solid date on when it will be opening up, but we do know what’s holding it up. It seems that DICE has got the game ready for the beta, they’re just being held up by others.

Were they not aiming to have a simultanious release of the beta on all three platforms, we would have seen the beta by now, at least on the PC. The problem is that Sony and Microsoft aren’t ready for it to launch on their respective consoles.

Now before you get up in arms over either company’s tendency to take forever to release things like patches (see Dead Island) this does make sense. Neither Microsoft or Sony wants to see the beta have major issues on their console, as it is one of the biggest titles of the year. Thus, they are spending time doing internal testing to make sure that everything checks out. Once they’ve finished that, we should see an announcement for the beta.
