DotA 2 Devotion: Billboard Beta Key Contest Entry

There are some things that you want in life so much, that you would do anything to have them. And when I say anything, I mean going to the most extreme of the extreme. When it comes to getting a beta key for Dota 2, you know people are going to go out of their way, but not as many will go as far as this guy.

Steven Addison wanted to show his love and devotion for DotA 2 in a whole new way. Although this contest wasn’t exactly meant to be taken to such a degree, Addison took it to a larger-than-life scale, and by that, I mean to say a billboard. The contest rules are to submit a 600 x 400 pixel image that has DotA 2 and your username in the photo. He was killing two birds with one stone by using this for a school project, and then the contest as well, but this is really going to the next level.

The best part is that he didn’t spend a dime on it. Normally local billboards will cost you about $3,000, but since Addison talked to the guys who owned the billboard, they managed to get it for much less than the quoted price. By that, I mean to say it was completely free, as the guy in charge used to be a photography student who was shot down when he was younger with a similar idea. I do kind of feel sorry for him though as people are probably going to go out of their way to find him in game and annihilate him repeatedly as not all of the others were quite as good.
